Developing Local Talent
Maersk Oil is supporting Qatar in achieving its 2030 Vision under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, by developing both its natural and human resources.
Qatarization forms an integral role in achieving that vision and a key role in our organisation – in our continuous focus to help develop the country’s future generation of engineers, geologists, managers and executives. Already 24% of our employees are Qatari nationals, of which 50% work in the technical fields.
While the size and complexity of our operations in Qatar ensures unparalleled learning opportunities, we are dedicated to maintaining a challenging and rewarding work environment, to fostering knowledge-transfer, to building skills and to developing local talent.
We strongly believe that the key to our success is a skilled, qualified and motivated workforce. We welcome ambitious and driven individuals to join us in becoming Qatar’s future industry pioneers.

Contribute to Qatar's growth
“After 24 years of working for international oil and gas companies I can honestly say Maersk Oil is the best company for Qataris looking to develop their career, offering the greatest challenges and the biggest learning opportunities.
We operate Qatar’s largest offshore oil field in cooperation with QP, contributing 1/3 of Qatar’s oil production as the country’s largest oil producer. Therefore, not only can our Qatari employees expect great learning opportunities, but they can also benefit from knowing they are making a significant contribution to Qatar’s growth.”
Sheikh Faisal Al-Thani, Maersk Oil Qatar Deputy Managing Director.
