On 18 April 2006, Maersk Oil UK announced as follows:

“The DTI has approved the Dumbarton project, a re-development plan for the Donan field located in the UK sector of the North Sea. The field lies within blocks 15/20a & 15/20b and will be operated by Maersk Oil (70%) with partner Noble Energy, Inc. (30%).

The plan consists of six wells and development drilling commenced in January. The wells will be tied back to the Global Producer III, a Floating Production, Storage & Offloading (FPSO) facility.

The Dumbarton project is a redevelopment of the abandoned Donan field. Following further successful delineation drilling, the decision was taken to redevelop this Palaeocene oilfield. Production is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2007.”
