The role of our security department is fourfold.  

• The security department ensures that each of our business location is aware of the security environment in which it operates, that adequate assessment of risk to security is made, and that the necessary measures to mitigate risks have been taken. 
• It works with the exploration and new business personnel of Maersk Oil, consulting on risks extant in projects and locations that they assess for new opportunities. 
• It ensures day-to-day compliance with security rules and regulations across our business units.  
• It handles security detail for ad hoc events such as trips, conferences and major global events that involve Maersk Oil.
