Maersk International Technology and Science Programme (MITAS) is a two-year entry level programme designed to provide newly graduated engineers and geoscientists with technical challenges and a business mind-set to serve as a foundation for a successful career with Maersk Oil.
We employ MITAS participants in the following disciplines: Drilling & Well Services, Subsurface, and Facilities & Projects.

Real work and three placements during two years

You will undertake three 8-month placements, in three different technical positions, giving you a breadth of work experience spanning in the upstream oil and gas industry, which is hard to beat. It’s challenging work giving you international experience and real responsibilities – opportunities rarely available with other companies without lengthy training.

Build business acumen

You will complete four training modules, including project and process management, communication, team work and introduction to understanding the upstream oil and gas industry and economics.

Develop your technical expertise

You could end up working in any of our global locations, but wherever that may be, you will always receive excellent discipline specific technical training, developing your specialist expertise and general skills.

Innovate and make an impact

Together with fellow MITAS engineers and geoscientists, you will develop your ideas into real projects and pitch them to senior management. During the second year of the MITAS programme you will learn about Innovation and Change Management by spending one week at an internationally acclaimed university.

Receive career guidance

A senior mentor will guide you and help you with your personal and professional development as well as help you plan your career progression.

Develop an international network

The MITAS programme will provide you with an unrivalled international network within the Maersk organisation, something you will continue to benefit from throughout your career.

Programme structure

Successful completion of the programme will lead to a full-time position in your original home base.
