Maersk Oil entered Algeria in 1990

Maersk Oil participates in two Production Sharing Contracts in Algeria. Maersk Oil's share of the oil production was some 30,000 barrels per day in 2008.

In the contract covering Blocks 404a and 208, Maersk Oil participates with a 12.25% interest, ENI with a 12.25% interest, while Anadarko (operator in cooperation with the Algerian state oil company Sonatrach) holds a 24.5% interest and Sonatrach holds the remaining 51% interest.
