In 2001, Maersk Oil was awarded operatorship in the onshore Blocks 45 and 48, located in central Oman. Since 2007, Petrogas has been partner with 50% interest in a Joint Venture with Maersk Oil, holding the remaining 50%. The acreage is operated under an Exploration and Production Sharing Contract. Two exploration wells have been drilled since 2004 and further drilling is planned for the licence period which expires in 2011.
