Maersk Oil has been engaged in Brazil since 2001 and holds an interest in two discoveries, Wahoo and Itaipu, which are currently under appraisal with our partners with a view to progressing to commercial projects.

The Wahoo and Itaipu licenses are located in approximately 1,300m to 1,400m of water depth in the Campos Basin in the southern Atlantic Ocean, a large well-explored sedimentary area of around 100,000 km2. Maersk Oil, together with its partners, is currently evaluating development options for the two discoveries.

License details:

  • 20% non-operated share in the Wahoo field (BM-C-30); In appraisal phase
  • 27% non-operated share in Itaipu (BM-C-32); in appraisal phase
