Maersk Oil has had a significant presence in the UK since 2005 and operates offshore installations that produce from the Gryphon, Maclure and Tullich fields (Gryphon Alpha FPSO), Dumbarton, Balloch and Lochranza fields (Global Producer III FPSO), and operates the Flyndre field, produced via a subsea to a new module installed on the Repsol-Sinopec operated Clyde platform.

In 2014, the Nexen-operated Golden Eagle project came onstream and in August 2015 Maersk Oil’s HPHT Culzean Field project was sanctioned, with first gas expected in 2019.

First Oil from Flyndre, a cross-border development which straddles the UK-Norwegian median line, was delivered in March 2017. Production from the Flyndre field is expected to peak at around 10,000 bopd with the field expected to produce until at least 2023. The export route takes production from the Clyde platform, via the Fulmar platform (also operated by Repsol-Sinopec) and onwards to Teesside via the Norpipe system.

NORTH SEA FOCUS

The North Sea is Maersk Oil’s heartland and a core value driver. The company continues to focus on the North Sea region, where it is delivering value from a substantial producing asset base and major new developments such as the Maersk Oil-operated Culzean field on the UKCS and our stake in Norway’s Statoil-operated Johan Sverdrup field.

STATUS

Maersk Oil is currently developing a number of projects, notably the flagship ultra-high pressure, high temperature Culzean development.

Maersk Oil recently invested USD 1 billion in the Nexen-operated Golden Eagle field, first production from which came onstream in 2014.
